The Department of Public Affairs is responsible for the following tasks on behalf of the Office of the Cuyahoga County Coroner:
- Plans and directs short-range and short-term public relations and public information programs designed to promote and explain the Office’s function as a part of county government.
- Consults with and advises other departments and administrators as to the public relations implications of agency policies, practices and actions.
- Prepares news releases for dissemination to media outlets, when and where needed.
- Develops and maintains day-to-day contact with newspapers, news services, radio and television stations and other media for dissemination of materials.
- Serves as a liaison with other organizations, institutions and other identified constituency on behalf of the Office.
- Serves as spokesperson for the agency before mass media and various interested groups.
